Frequently Asked Questions
Contributions to Music Box: Revive at 95 are NOT tax-deductible.
All contributors (seat sponsors and donors) will be recognized on the Music Box website. Seat Sponsors will have a personalized nameplate with text of your choice on each seat purchased. Donations of $100 or more made between June 3rd and July 31st, 2024 will receive a free Music Box merchandise item (poster, mug, etc). These donors will be notified on how to select their Thank You Gift at a later date.
Seat plates are 7/8" x 2-1/2" and will be affixed to the armrests of the seats.
Each personalized plate has space for 2 lines with a maximum 18 characters per line (including spaces). You may choose what you would like on the plate provided it isn’t offensive or inappropriate. Sponsor names are not included on the plate by default. You will need to include your name in the "Text to Engrave" field if you would like your name included in the engraving.
No. This campaign is a sponsoring opportunity only and does not include tickets or seat assignments for screenings or events. Seat locations are chosen randomly and does not guarantee your seat location for screenings. Plates will remain for the duration of the usable life of the new seats.
Seat Sponsors will be notified via a letter with the row and seat number of their sponsored seat in the theatre. It may take us some time to provide this information, so please be patient. We hope to have plates on armrests and notify sponsors by fall 2024.
Yes. Although the location of the two seats will be selected randomly, we will make sure they are next to each other.
You can sponsor as many seats as you’d like. You may add up to two seats to your order at a time. To add more seats navigate back to the Sponsor A Seat page or click the "Add more seats" button in your shopping cart.
Of course! You can contribute as much as you would like. You can either mail us a check in the amount you would like to donate or use the pre-determined donation amounts online and add multiple amounts to your cart.
We are doing our best to adhere to the aesthetics and footprint of the auditorium seats from when the theater was built in 1929. The new seats will be similar to our current seats with the addition of more comfortable seat cushions, walnut-stained veneer wood backs, hardwood armrests, and cupholders.
We know the old seats have a special place in many people’s hearts. We are working with local nonprofit, Rebuilding Exchange to find new homes for the seats. Stay tuned for more information.
The revitalization of our 740-seat main auditorium will happen August 12 to September 5, 2024 to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the venue which opened August 22nd, 1929. The large theatre will be closed during this time, but the Garden and screening room will still be open.
